Nothing, short of time travel could have prepared me for the weeks I spent in Africa.  I felt like a toddler taking her first steps and thankfully, I had Miriam Karanja there to hold my hand.  The planning work that Sandy, Boni and Miriam did for me saved time, money and potential exasperation.  Miriam is a knowledgeable and highly capable guide, not to mention a lovely person.  My experiences in Kenya would not have been half as meaningful had I not worked with Sandy, Boni and Miriam.

I stayed at Guesthouse Jane in Naivasha, Kenya for several nights.  It is a lovely place.  Mildred, the property manager is a delight.  The small pool is a welcome refreshment after a long hot day.  The rooms are very nice and clean.  I spent several hours one morning working on my computer on the front porch.  It was so incredibly quiet and thousands of butterflies fluttered about the foliage below on the lawn.  The property rooster watched me every now and again (or maybe there was just a juicy bug behind me) and I felt the wonderful, peaceful calm of a truly special place.  - Elizabeth Grubb, photo-journalist
